Ray’s newest work
VIVID-19.
Vivid-19 was born from time in quarantine during the Covid 19 pandemic. I am a naturally social being, and feeling trapped at home during this time of fear and uncertainty has been draining and dark for me, as I know it was been for many. Because of this, I felt the urge to create something bright.
Repurposed.
This series was born out of a want to be more sustainable and resourceful with my art work. I created the pieces using scraps of materials I had lying around such as bits of canvas, paper, and plastic. Anything that I can reuse, I used both to paint with and actually as a part of the art.
Strokes by nature.
This series explores the desire to be one with nature, and how I use the outdoors to ground myself when I am anxious. I often take walks when I need to clear my head, and on these walks, I collect things such as sticks, leaves, rocks, and used them to paint this collection of work.
